# Availability, Your Way: Specific Dates and Recurring Blackouts

Set exactly when an activity can be redeemed: make it available only on the dates you choose, or block out weekends and time windows with one recurring rule.

**Set exactly when an activity can be redeemed.** You can now make an activity available only on the dates you choose, block out recurring days and times with a single rule, or combine both.

Until now, the only way to limit when an activity could be used was to add blackout dates one row at a time. A weekends-only attraction or a one-day festival check-in meant entering dozens of dates by hand, and redoing them whenever the schedule changed. Not anymore.

## What you can do

- **Available only on specific dates.** Choose **Specific Dates** and the activity can only be redeemed on the days you pick: a single day, a date range, or a repeating rule like "every Saturday."
- **Recurring blackouts.** Block every weekend, a daily 4–5pm window or the first of each month with one rule that keeps running, with an optional end date.
- **Use both together.** Make an activity available Saturdays only, then black out a holiday weekend. Blackouts always win.
- **A plain-English preview.** As you build a rule, you'll see exactly what it means, like "Unavailable every Sat & Sun, all day."
- **Your words for passholders.** Write your own "unavailable" message, or let us generate one from your schedule.

On the mobile pass, passholders see when an activity is unavailable and when it's available next, right on the list of things to do, instead of hitting a dead end.

> **Why it matters:** Date-specific programs (festivals, weekends-only attractions, seasonal trails) can be set up in seconds and stay accurate as plans change, and passholders never waste a trip on something that isn't available that day.

## How to get started

1. Open a pass, go to **Activities** and choose an activity.
2. Open **Restrictions**.
3. Under **Availability**, choose **Anytime** or **Specific Dates**. For Specific Dates, add a single day, a date range or a repeating rule.
4. Optionally, click **Add Blackout** to block days or times. Blackouts apply under either option.
5. Optionally, write a custom "unavailable" message, then save.
